County and local officials, community members and volunteers; along with Doug and Sharon Sippel, park sponsors; gathered at Sippel Reservoir Park for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the newly constructed Scholars Run Pedestrian Bridge on Wednesday, Oct. 18.
The bridge provides a trail connection in the northern part of the park to a trail system that connects to the Harmony Trail. The system effectively provides access from Harmony Borough and Township neighborhoods to the north, to the park, surrounding businesses and Zelienople’s Main Street to the south.
“The Township appreciates the collaboration of property owners and funding sources that were required to bring this important project to completion,” stated Township Manager Chris Rearick.
