Officer Vaughn Pulgini and Aron
Jackson Township Police Department presently utilizes a police canine as part of its normal police operations.
The canine is a German Shepherd named "Aron" who was imported from Holland in April 2015 to a training facility in Pennsylvania. The Jackson Township Police Department purchased the canine in June 2015 and sent Officer Vaughn Pulgini to that facility to be trained with the canine.
"Aron" is certified as a dual purpose canine and as part of his patrol capabilities can do handler protection, crowd control, tracking, building search and narcotics. "Aron" will see duty in regular patrol and also throughout the Seneca Valley School District and also for narcotics detection and deterrence. The versatility of this canine will be a great tool to assist the officers of the Jackson Township Police Department and will provide additional services to the residents of Jackson Township and the Seneca Valley School District. He resides with his handler during off duty hours.
This police canine was made possible through donations from many Jackson Township businesses and concerned residents. Donations for the police canine fund can be made to the Jackson Township Police Canine Fund at the police department, 140 Magill Road, Zelienople PA 16063.
